Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026 (version 2026-10-07)
These terms explain how you may use Little Big Tool and what you can expect from us. They are written in plain English. Please read them together with our Refund Policy and Privacy Notice.
Operator details
- t.r-c@outlook.com
Operator details are provided at the time of purchase.
1. Who we are and acceptance
1.1Little Big Tool (the Service) is a small collection of browser-based engineering tools, with this page as the front door. It is operated by the operator identified in the Operator details above (we, us, our). The operator is a small business in Australia.
1.2By using the Service, or by buying an Export Pass, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1.3In these terms:
- You
- the person using the Service and, if you use it for a business, that business.
- Design
- the message you send through this page's contact form.
- Export
- a file generated from a Design, such as a file.
- Export Pass
- a time-limited right to use the paid features and Exports, bought through the Service (see clause 2).
- ACL
- the Australian Consumer Law, which is Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
2. The service and export passes
2.1Free. You can read this page and follow its links without paying and without creating an account.
2.2Paid. These need an Export Pass: nothing on this page: the tools it links to sell time-limited passes on their own sites, under their own terms. We may change which formats are free or paid in future, but not for a pass you have already bought (see clause 8.3).
2.3No accounts. We do not ask you to register. Your work in Little Big Tool is tied to your browser by a session cookie (hb_sid) and is kept in the server's memory only for as long as the session lasts. See clause 5.
2.4How a pass works. An Export Pass is time-limited. Its length is shown when you buy it and is counted from the time of purchase, not from first use. After a successful payment we set a signed cookie (hb_pass) in your browser that unlocks the paid formats until the pass expires.
2.5Do not share your pass. A pass is for you (or, if you buy it for your business, for that business). It is not transferable. Technically the pass is a bearer token: whoever holds the cookie, or the confirmation link described below, can use it. You must not share it, publish it or resell it.
2.6Restoring a pass. The confirmation page shown after payment has a link. Opening that link in another browser restores the pass there until it expires; it never adds time. Keep the link private. If you clear your cookies you can restore the pass with the same link. If you lose the link, contact us with your Stripe receipt and we will try to help where we can verify the purchase.
3. Eligibility
3.1You must be at least 18 to buy an Export Pass. If you are under 18 you may use the free features, or buy a pass with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms.
3.2You may use the Service and your Exports for business purposes. If you use it on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
4. Acceptable use
4.1You must not:
- attack, probe, overload or disrupt the Service or the systems it runs on;
- scrape or copy the Service at scale, or use automated tools to call it other than ordinary browser use;
- bypass, tamper with or work around the Export Pass, the rate limits or any other limit or control;
- share, sell, rent or otherwise make your pass or its confirmation link available to others;
- resell the Service, or offer access to its features to third parties as a competing service;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to access another person's session, Design or pass.
4.2We apply rate limits and capacity limits to keep the Service available to everyone. We may block or throttle traffic that appears abusive, with or without notice.
5. Your designs and exports
5.1You keep your rights. You keep all rights in your Designs and Exports. We claim none.
5.2You allow us to process your Designs only as needed to run the Service for you, for example to calculate geometry and generate an Export.
5.3Your work is temporary. Design data lives in the server's memory for your session only. It is not stored long term, and it is discarded when the session expires after a period of inactivity or when the server restarts. We do not keep backups of it.
5.4Save your work. Download your .project design files regularly. Subject to clause 11, we are not responsible for work lost because a session expired, the server restarted, or you cleared your cookies.
6. Our intellectual property
6.1The Service, including its software, user interface, text and graphics, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose while you comply with these terms.
6.2The Service includes third-party components, such as open-source libraries, that are included under their own open-source licences. Those licences apply to those components, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them.
7. About the tools this page links to
7.1Little Big Tool is a front page that links to separate tools. Each tool is an educational or design-study aid with its own terms, limits and disclaimers; read them on the tool's own site.
7.2No tool here is navigation, safety or certified-engineering software. A competent person must verify any result before you rely on it.
7.3To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that the Service or any Export is accurate or fit for a particular purpose. This does not limit your rights under clause 11.
8. Availability and changes to the service
8.1We aim to keep the Service running but we do not guarantee any level of uptime. It may be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
8.2We may change, add or remove features at any time.
8.3If we discontinue or materially reduce a paid feature while you hold an active Export Pass, we will give you reasonable notice and, if you cannot use what you paid for, we will refund the unused part of the pass (see the Refund Policy).
9. Pricing, payment and GST
9.1Prices are shown in Australian dollars at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay; nothing is added at the end.
9.2The operator is not registered for GST, so the prices do not include GST and no GST is charged. Because of that we do not issue tax invoices; Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment. If the operator registers for GST in future, the prices shown at checkout will say whether they include GST and these terms will be updated.
9.4Payments are one-time payments processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy notice apply to its processing of your payment. We do not renew passes automatically.
9.5We ask Stripe about the status of a purchase (for example whether it was paid, refunded or disputed) so that we can unlock, restore or end a pass.
10. Passes and refunds
10.1Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms. It explains when we refund a pass and how to ask.
10.2If a payment is refunded or disputed, the pass bought with it stops working automatically.
10.3Nothing in the Refund Policy limits your rights under the ACL (see clause 11).
11. Australian Consumer Law
11.1Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service remedied in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel the contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion.
11.2You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
11.3Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have, or any guarantee, under the ACL or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
12. Limitation of liability
12.1This clause applies subject to clause 11, and only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12.2We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, or loss or corruption of data, however caused.
12.3We are not liable for decisions you make, or loss or damage you suffer, because you relied on a result or Export. See clause 7.
12.4Where you use the Service or an Export Pass for a purpose that is not personal, domestic or household use, or where the ACL otherwise permits us to limit our liability, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service in the 12 months before the claim is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Where the ACL permits us to limit liability for a breach of a guarantee to resupplying the service (or paying the cost of resupply), we may choose to do so.
13. Indemnity (business users)
13.1If you use the Service for a business, you must compensate us for loss, damage and reasonable costs that we suffer because you misused the Service or breached clause 4 or clause 5.1, or because a Design you uploaded infringed someone else's rights.
13.2This clause does not apply to anyone who uses the Service as a consumer, and it does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by us.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1We may suspend or end your access, or revoke a pass, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms or if we reasonably believe your use puts the Service or others at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
14.2If we end a valid pass without a breach by you, we will refund the unused part of it.
14.3You can stop using the Service at any time. Clauses that by their nature continue (including clauses 5.1, 6, 7, 11, 12 and 17) continue after that.
15. Privacy
15.1Our Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the cookies and browser storage the Service uses (hb_sid, hb_pass and hb_prefs).
16. Changes to these terms
16.1We may update these terms. The new version has a new version date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.
16.2A material change will not apply retroactively to an Export Pass you have already bought: for that pass the terms in force when you bought it continue to apply, unless the change is required by law or is in your favour.
17. Governing law and disputes
17.1These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State or Territory and of the courts that can hear appeals from them. This does not limit any right you have under the ACL to bring a claim in another court or tribunal.
17.2If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out.
18. General
18.1Notices. We may give you notices by email (if you have contacted us) or by publishing them on this site. You may give us notices by email at the address below.
18.2Severability. If a part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
18.3Entire agreement. These terms, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier understanding about it.
18.4No waiver and assignment. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business, as long as your rights under these terms and the law are not reduced.
